↓ Artist Statement
I use the tire treads that I collected from the highway as material to interweave my relationship between contingency and stability. From the west to the east, the shadow of the American Terrain Profile on the fabric screen indicates the mountain and canyon, the plateau and river, the rise and fall. The McDonald cups work as a pair of telephones, one side behind the screen keeps playing the audio which we might encounter while driving: road rage, accident, wind gust or just plain radio wave. They require your absolute attention and physical involvement, or they mean nothing. Like the pair of telephone set, you won’t hear anything, unless you pick it up.
